Secor Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Celebrates Mary Anderson's Innovativeness

Drivers put little thought into items like windshield wipers. A rather simplistic concept, it’s amazing to think there ever was a time we were without them. High visibility wasn’t always expected; it was a luxury.

In 1903, Mary Anderson envisioned a future where drivers no longer had to step outside their car to repel water with a mixture of carrot and potatoes or cross their fingers and hope for the best. She wanted vehicles to be better prepared against Mother Nature and for its drivers to stay safe when up against the elements.

With the windshield wiper, soon components like air bags, seat belts and inspiring accident prevention technologies followed, crafting the safe and reliable vehicles we know today.

In celebration of Women’s History Month, we recognize women like Mary Anderson and their contributions to the automotive industry. Explore our now--thanks to Mary Anderson--safe new vehicle lineup here at Secor Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in New London today.
